RECYCLE: Where your old clothes go next
Most of us have a pile of textiles at home we're not sure what to do with. Old towels, worn out gym gear, clothes that don't fit anymore. It's not always clear where they should go and that uncertainty often means they end up in the bin.
At Greenwood Plaza we've made the decision easy. Drop your old textiles at the RCYCL hub and know that they're going somewhere meaningful.
What actually happens to your clothes
RECYCL works with Australia's longest standing textile recycler, who has a longstanding relationship with a mill that breaks down clothing and repurposes it into new yarn and carpet underlay. With Rcycl your old t-shirt genuinely does become something new. The process starts with sorting, separating textiles by material type, quality and condition. They're then cleaned thoroughly before being shredded and spun into new yarn. Nothing is wasted.
